in addition to 除....之外 ，相当于besides、apart from 除....之外还有
in spite of .....尽管 ，相当于 despite ，后面不能接句子，though 和although 后面接句子，但不接名词以及短语
out of .... ....的外面
except for ...... 除了....之外 ，与except 意思差不多，但是有不同，它强调整体上有些许的不足 之处。 比较:This article is very good except for some mistakes. All of our class have been to that museum except Li Ming.
17、D 省略主语,一般来说一个句子只有一个主语，如果出现两个或者两个以上的主语，则需要相应的连词连接，典型的if 、when、while..... 其中如果只有一个主语，省略二者之中的一个主语，如果是主谓关系的将动词改为现在分词，动宾关系的改为过去分词。the mountains give him a sense of infinite peace.山给了他一种平和的感觉，主语是山________ on a clear day。如果主语还是山的话，句子就不通了，所以主语应该是人，因为谓语动词是walk 。前面提到两个主语的需要连词连接，排除B.又提到主语只有一个时可以省略主语，但要变成现在分词或者过去分词格式。已知该句应该有两个主语，所以答案就出来了。
