Interesting things always happen during the Spring Festival. I was at my grandma’s with my family for the New Year. My cousin’s family was there, too. Towards dark, my cousin Dali got some fireworks and was going to set them off in the street when a girl named Lili who was Dali’s classmate happened to come around with some posters. She stopped Dali and showed him some posters, which explained that setting off fire-works might cause pollution and fires. What’s more, it would do serious harm to people’s eyes. Though Dali was not happy at first he agreed with Lili after looking at the posters carefully and decided not to set fireworks any more.
It’s surprising that a little girl would try to stop people setting fireworks in the street. What great courage she must have got! And how amazing that my cousin accepted her advice so willingly.
