但在我看来，杀害、欺侮他人或自己都是一种不好也不对的行为，我想是因为自己这么多年来一直受到家庭、学校以及整个社会灌输这样的观念，让这些道德规范悄悄地深植入我的想法中，同时我自己本身也赞同这样的论点。在过去原始的生活中，这样的掠杀行为是为了自我的生存，其价值并没有所谓的对或错，但是现在的我们是生存于文明化的社会，之所以称为「文明」，便代表着和过去有不同的生活方式，我们透过一些规范的约束，要求生活於其中的人一起遵守，以确保大家能获得更安定而幸福的生活，我想这便是道德规范存在的价值与目的啊！
在这个故事中，我们可以清楚的看到，那些天真的孩童，他们表现出来的行为正在逐步地退化，就像是过去远古人类的生活模式，由于当时人类还没发展出较高水平的知识文化水准，所以在面临冲突的时候，个体往往诉诸於暴力的手段来解决问题，而此种解决方式是源起于每个人心中潜在的本能，这份本能就这样毫无修饰地爆发出来！另一方面，就Maslow的需求层次论观点来看，当最为基层的生理需求（食物、水、温暖…）、安全需求未获得满足时，较高层次的爱与隶属、自尊…等需求又如何产生呢？所以在故事中，大家为了食物、为了免除恐惧的低层次需求的满足，抛开了较高层面的其他需求，也因此属于较高层次中的道德规范已不再发挥作用，其便如同废纸一般的被卷入绞纸机中彻底粉碎瓦解了

On the other hand, on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory point of view, when the most basic physiological needs (food, water, warmth ...), the security requirements are not met, the demand for a higher level of love and belongingness, self-esteem ... etc. How about returned? 　　In my opinion, it’s a bad and incorrect action of murdering and bullying others or oneself. I think it’s owe to the social ideas that families, schools and the whole society instilled in me these years, which made these moral norms rooting softly and deeply in my mind, and I myself also very agree with these ideas. During the past primitive life, such kill behavior was for one’s own survival, not valued by right or wrong. However, now we are living in a civilized society. Being called “civilized”, that means it’s different from the past life style. People are required to obey these constraints, to ensure all could live peaceful and happy. I think it’s the purpose and importance of the moral norm!
　　In this story, we may see obviously, behaviours of these innocent children are degenerating gradually, which are just same like the ancient people’s life style. Because of the low standard of living and knowledge, people usually solve problems by violence when one’s facing conflicts. It’s due to one’s potential instinct that will break out under that kind of situations! On the other hand, in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, when the basic physiological needs(food, water, warmth…), safety needs are not be satisfied, how the higher needs as love, belongingness, self-esteem… can be developed? So in this story, children give up the higher needs for preventing from fear and hunger. The higher moral norms do not play roles, but just as the waste papers being smashed by shredder.
