Bobby was getting cold sitting out in his backyard in the snow.He had already been in his backyard for about an hour.He could not come up with an idea for his mother's Christmas gift.He shook his head as he thought,"This is useless.Even if I do come up with an idea,I don't have any money to spend."
Since his father passed away three years ago, the family of five had fallen into trouble but tried their best.His mother worked nights at the hospital,but the small payment.Never seemed to be enough.Bobby had three sisters.They also took good care of him when his mother was not at home.All his sisters had already made beautiful gifts for their mother..with tears in his eyes,Bobby kicked the snow and stared to walk down to the street.It wasn't easy being six without a father.Bobby walked from shop to shop.Suddenly,he found a dime on the ground.He felt so excited.He hurried into a shop but the salesperson told him he could not buy anything with only a dime.He saw a flower shop and went in.When the shop owner asked if he could help him,Bobby showed the dime and asked if he could buy one flower as his mother's Christmas gift.The shop owner looked at Bobby and his ten cents.Then he said to him,"Just wait here".
Bobby waited until the sound of the door closing pulled Bobby back to reality.Suddenly the shop owner came to the counter.There, lay twelve red roses tied toghter."That will be ten cents ,young man,"the shop owner said, reaching out his hand for the dime.Slowly,Bobby gave the man his dime.Could this be true?The shop owner added,"I happened to have some roese on sale for ten cents a dozen.Would you like them?"
This time Bobby did not hesitate,and when the man placed the long box into his hands.he knew it was true.Walking out of the door,he heard the shop owner say,"Merry Christmas, son".
