Ancient poetry is a treasure of the history of our literature, fully embodies the charm of the Chinese language, has an important role in cultivating students' language literacy, is a rare good material for language learning. In this paper, the significance of teaching of ancient poetry, as well as a combination of the characteristics of the age of the students and the new curriculum requirements, the primary language of ancient poetry teaching materials and teaching status, and on this basis, discusses the hierarchical reading of teaching strategies and to explore teachers guide students to independent reading ancient poetry teaching strategies. The proposed the layered reading the teaching strategies, in order to highlight the unity of language teaching humanities and instrumental; to explore teachers to guide students to independent reading, aims to respect the student's individualized reading.
