=2cos²x+2cosx(cosxcosπ/3 +sinxsinπ/3) -3/2
=2cos²x+2cosx[½cosx+(√3/2)sinx] -3/2
=2cos²x+cos²x+√3sinxcosx -3/2
=3cos²x+√3sinxcosx -3/2
=(3/2)(2cos²x)+(√3/2)(2sinxcosx)- 3/2
=(3/2)(1+cos2x)+(√3/2)sin2x -3/2
=(√3/2)sin2x +(3/2)cos2x +3/2 -3/2
=√3[½sin2x+(√3/2)cos2x]
=√3sin(2x+π/3)
