(3)表示过去习惯发生的动作(与used to有区别,见used to)。
No one believed he would actually kill himself
I said I would do my best。
He told me he would he free tonight。
Sometimes I would come home late。
He wouldn' t give the names of his partners。
That would be in spring 1964。
0f course, he broke the glass。
--0h, he would。
7、would=could译为“能,能够”。
例如:The room would seat 50 persons。
If I were your,I would quit smoking。
Would(that)I were a superman。
Would you please show me the way?
1,He told me he would not eat my mom's pancake.
2,The baby was born to a poor farmer's family. Nobody knew he would become the 21th president of United States of America 40 years later.
3,The driver would have been in trouble if he'd drunk that night.
We would like you to join our family for a traditional Christmas dinner on 25 December. We would love to have you come to Estes Park and enjoy a meal at our table and see some of our winter beauty.
Your assistance would be highly appreciated. Would you give me a hand? Would you shut up?
Jim would not stay there for a long time.
1,I would say I don't like Bush's administration.
a. The driver would have been in trouble if he'd drunk that night.
b. I would give him a ride if he drinks too much.
c. I will give him a ride if he drinks tonight(打定主意要这么做了,事前计划好了的).
d. Since he's drunk too much tonight, I am going to give him a ride(我这就准备这么做,当然用will也不是不可以).
e. I would like to give him a ride even if he hadn't drunk at all (我很愿意这么做。
(3)表示过去习惯发生的动作(与used to有区别,见used to)。
