Nowadays, televasion has been a major way of entertaining for children, which is because there exist many appealing programs such as American's got talent indeed. But it also causes many severe problems and troubles, like children will pay more attention to the televasion instead of their assignments, thus students cannot do well in school for lack of interest in their studies.
It is because the phenomina mentioned above that renders parents get worried about their children's schooling, and many parents begin to constrain their children to watch TV. This behavior is appropriate in some way. First, children always lack the ability of self-discipline. They do not know what they should do at first when facing the attractive programs. For example, I always watched catoons after school but never finished my homework when I was in elementary school. Therefore, oftentimes, I ranked the last in my class and nearly know nothing about my couses. More severely. I got a bad myopia at that time. If I had been limited to watch TV, I would become a well rounded student now and have a good eyesight.
Aside from this reason, there is also a vital factor that makes it rational to limit the time children spend in watching TV, that is, the varied of contents lacking censorship in programs. Children can tell good and evil, truth and false difficultly. They may follow the behavior shown in the TV shows, including unwanted sex, violence. It is unimaginable for both parents and their children. A pomising children probably go astray for the unsensored contents, thus they will pay no attention to school.
Still, many people believe children shouldn't be limited to watch TV, which is partly because children can learn a lot from TV programs. IF a student can watch TV everyday, he will be filled with more motivation and enthusiasm in studies. There was a cliche in English:"Studying without playing makes Jack a fool." Children should get more time to do what they are interested in for a better development.
In conclusion, I reckon parents are supposed to give time constraints to children, anyway, they are too little to control themselves. 展开
