Dear Peter,
Surprised to know that you will come to Peking China for your new school life. I am glad to introduce the conditions of transportations tools in Peking to you. Retrospecting the past about 50 years ago, you can find that the transportations tools were not as various as they are. Especially, the public transportations were too poor to meet people's needs. There were only two subway lines which just could bring passengers to some limited places. Besides, the number of bus and taxi was moderate and made it not that convenient for citizens to travel inside Peking. However, everything about transportations has changed. The number of subway line has increased from 2 to ~(I don't know the exact number ). You can almost travel to any place of Peking by subway and there is no traffic jams in subway lines. Compared with the past situation, city buses and taxis have cover every corner of Peking. Modern transportation of Peking can be characterized by Convenience and Efficiency. But the growing number of various transportation tools challenges the capacity of the roads.
